There was a man. His silhouette was in the window. It seemed as if he was walking closer and closer. I was in a cabin up in the Alps by myself. I was alone. This man got closer and closer. I ran into my room and shut the door slowly and quietly.
I heard soft footsteps coming up on the door, then stop, turn. I hold my breath. I hear a clicking sound coming from the lock, the sound I imagine a million black beatles would make as they slid over each other. Then the door handle begins to turn.
The creaking of the old wooden door squeals as the door opens, quietly, carefully. The first thing I see is the barrel of a gun as it bares itself in the sunlight. What follows is a man. He is large, no, massive. A broad chest, over beaning shoulders, and a ball cap that reads "Beware of the bear" on it.
I cover my mouth and crawl under my bed, praying he didn't see me.
"Hello!" The large man yelled as he slung his gun over his shoulder.
"Hello!" he repeated, his voice becoming impatient.
"I just wanted to let you know that you left your car lights on." He scanned the cabin. I rolled out from under the bed.
"Oh thanks." I murmured, embarrassed about my over reaction.
"Just kidding, i'm here to kill you," the man yelled. He positioned his gun and pulled the trigger...
